Inspired by romanticism and symbolism, I have often dreamed of being the muse of poet and wise man Baudelaire’s The Soul of Wine or The Fountain of Blood. Yet my history is so old that it is confused with that of humanity. I am born of the vine, a symbol of vitality. My name has embodied the duality between wine and life since time immemorial. My myth is related to Dionysus and Ampelos. I am wine, a gift of the gods who gave me the power of resurrection and eternal life. I inspire all artists with my color, intoxication and warmth. My aromas extol intellectual and sensual passions. I am the nectar of lovers, the fruit of passionate embraces. I perfume lips and kisses. I can be the root of betrayals and can wreak havoc on the mind. I have fueled conflicts, heated duels to win a heart to be shared. My perfume is born of this opposition, between desire and sorrow. My blend is an olfactory challenge between white and red, the coolness of metal and the heat of the oak which encloses my maceration. Inspired by Voyages, odysseys, journeys, I live on a vessel of mythical expeditions. My ship was built around taboos and superstitions. On the high seas, against the wind and the tides, I defend my cargo, my liquid treasure, from unfamiliar armies and lawless pirates. Rumours come before me and adversaries become obsessed with worries. My great bravery is the stuff of tales told in taverns and brothels, from one port to another, from the sea to the ocean. My whole life is nothing but adventure, fantasy and illusion. I sail on dangerous seas to unknown lands. My fragrance is that of courage, the solid wood of my Rabelo and the vanilla-scented aromas emanating from the barrels slumbering in the hold.
